Dr Senan Al-Mahaidi is an Australian-trained General Surgeon with a strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care across regional New South Wales. He holds expertise in a broad range of general surgical conditions, with a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic hernia repair and laparoscopic bowel surgery.
Dr Al-Mahaidi began his tertiary education with a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney, followed by an Honours degree in Neuroscience through research. He went on to complete his postgraduate medical degree at the University of Tasmania, graduating with Honours. He undertook specialist training in General Surgery through the John Hunter Hospital training network and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2017. He then completed further sub-speciality training in colorectal surgery at Gosford Hospital, refining his skills in advanced laparoscopic colorectal procedures.
Dr Al-Mahaidi has trained and worked across metropolitan, regional, and rural hospitals, gaining a deep understanding of the unique needs of these communities. He is proud to provide ongoing surgical care to patients throughout the Hunter Valley, Mid-North Coast, and Barrington Coast regions.

Originally from Taree, where he completed high school, Dr Al-Mahaidi is passionate about giving back to the regional communities that shaped his early life and career. He is a dedicated father to two young children and enjoys spending quality time with his family.
